Restaurant Bandiat in Abjat-sur-Bandiat
The Bandiat runs through the granite chaos. Its song mingles with that of the birds. What sweet music! The glass roof puts our heads in the trees. Time for lunch. Grégoire cooks the land, the land of his native Périgord, a cuisine firmly rooted in tradition, at once intuitive and gourmet, creative and endearing. It's a cuisine that captures the ephemeral, a moment in time, an emotion. The produce we use is in season, and feeds the local circle of a virtuous economy. Local producers become partners, sharing the same culture of ‘well done’ and good farming sense. Herbs, wild flowers and mushrooms abound in this country estate and woodland. They are the hallmark of the Parc Naturel Régional Périgord Limousin, the signature of the chef's dishes. An osmosis between the chef and nature at his fingertips. At our table, all the local produce is invited: knives from Nontron, chestnut chairs, ceramic crockery. Following the same credo, our wine selection gives pride of place to south-western wines produced according to the precepts of biodynamics. All the skills of our craftsmen, producers and winemakers come together in symbiosis on the table, adding meaning and congruence to this moment of gastronomy.
